I have been absent from the blogs for some time. I had a bad accident where I fractured both outside ankles and my right wrist. I was scheduled to travel on a mission trip to Uganda. After 2 days in the hospital, […]
February 15, 2019 Greetings Friends,
Recently I read Matthew 13: 1-23, the story of the parable. where Jesus tells the story of a farmer sowing seed. Some seed was eaten by birds. Some fell on rocky places with little soil and sprang up quickly only to be dried up quickly and withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns which choked the plants. Some seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop of a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. I wondered why the Scripture said 30, 60 and 100 instead of 30, 60, and 90. Could it be because God is not just a good God. He’s more than enough! In fact, He’s too much, beyond what we can imagine.
Some people hear the Gospel but spend little time reading the Word, praying and meeting with other believers. Others let the affairs of the world interfere and do not nurture their faith. Those who spend time in prayer, developing their relationship with the Lord, are then able to make a difference in the world. They grow in the fruit of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and in self-control.
Today I’ve been a fruit inspector, asking God where I need to make changes in the fruit I’m growing so that I can more greatly make a difference in the world. What about you?
Reminder: Please tune into WGGS TV, channel 16, Greenville, S.C. on Monday, February 18, at 8:00 p.m. for my interview with Dante Thompson, concerning the book, Be Encouraged, I’ve published recently and the orphanage the profits go to support in Masindi, Uganda.
Blessings. Martha Holland Dobson
